Conducting Polymer Based Sensors In pursuit of the holy grail of molecular electronics, molecular materials have a fundamental advantage. They have the necessary electronic structure at the molecule level as well as the possibility of tuning it. Some of them have performed well in ?m sized devices and can truly be built in a ?bottoms up? manner. Conducting polymers, as a class, have come out well ahead in this race and have the potential, along with carbon nano structures, of producing working devices of nanometer size.
